Updated Antimicrobial Breakpoints Changes
On 12/27/23 Parkview Health will begin implementing updated antimicrobial breakpoints on our automated susceptibility testing instrumentation.
Providers may notice MICs giving different susceptibility interpretations than usual when this changeover happens. This change is to stay current with updated versions of antimicrobial susceptibility guidelines released by CLSI and FDA. This change also satisfies a regulatory requirement from CAP (College of American Pathologists) that the laboratory must follow.
