Specimen Information:

The BD Molecular Swab Collection Kit contains one sterile polyester-tipped vaginal collection swab and a Sample Buffer Tube (SBT) contaning 2.0 mL of potassium phosphate, EDTA, Tween 20, adn Procilin presevatives. 

Collection Instructions:

No lubricants may be used before/during collection of this test.

Patient collection instructions to be completed at Parkview facility - Swabs are not to be sent home with patients.

Rejection Criteria:

Any swab used other than that in the BD Molecular Swab Sample Buffer kit. Any buffer tube (green cap) received without the correct swab inserted and broken off. Any buffer tube received with a punctured foil top. Any buffer tube received without the liquid buffer.
