CA 27.29 Change due to calibration adjustment

CA 27.29 (EPIC Code IMO422, Quest test code 29493)

As of 9/30/2024, a vendor-initiated change was made which may cause CA 27.29 results to exhibit an average increase of 5-10%, with an increase of greater than 20% in the low range (<38 u/mL) of the assay.  

A temporary report message has been added to test results: 

“The CA 27.29 results may be increased on average 5-10%, relative to results previously obtained with this method due to a recent calibrator adjustment made in October 2024 by the reagent manufacturer. In the low range for this assay (<38 U/mL), this increase may be greater than 20%. Serially monitored results should always be used in conjunction with other diagnostic procedures, including clinical evaluation”.
