Patient should discontinue taking Biotin, Vitamin B7, or Vitamin H 48 hours before getting blood drawn.

Avoid Thaw/Freeze Cycles

Cortiosl, 4PM reference ranges are applicable to specimens collected between 3 and 5 pm.  For specimens collected outside this time period, please order a Cortisol, Random (CORT)

Clinical Interpretation

Reference Range:

2.4 - 12.8 ug/dl


Test Comments:

Patients taking vitamin supplements containing high doses of biotin (>5 mg/day) may have falsely increased test results generated.
