Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered

Specimen Requirements:

2.0 mL Serum from a Red Top Tube in a Plastic Vial
Minimum Volume:
0.5 mL Serum*

* This volume does not allow for repeat testing

Processing Instructions:

Allow specimen to clot at ambient temperature, centrifuge and separate from cells, freeze.

Transport and Storage:
  • Ambient: Unacceptable

    Specimen only allowed to clot at ambient temperature. 

  • Refrigerated: Unacceptable
  • Frozen (-20 C or colder): 1 Month

    Do not use frost free units that undergo repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
