Patient Preparation: Overnight Fasting
Patient is to be restricted from alcohol, coffee, tea, raw fish, liver, pork, sausage and vitamins for at least 24 hours before sample collection
Specimen Requirements:

3.0 mL Frozen Plasma from a Lavender Top Tube (EDTA) in a Amber Vial

Collection Instructions: Separate cells by centrifugation at 2-8° C for 8-10 minutes; Centrifuge and remove from cells within 4 hours of collection. 

Protect from Light by placing in a Amber vial
Freeze immediately

Minimum Volume: 1.0 mL Plasma
Transport & Storage: Temperature/Stability: 1 month Frozen

Avoid Thaw/Freeze Cycles
Rejection Criteria: Lipemic, Hemolyzed, Ambient, Refrigerated, not protected from light
Reference Range: Adults: 8-30 nmol/L
