Patient Preparation: Overnight fasting is preferred
Patient must be restricted from alcohol and vitamins for at least 24 hours before sample collection.
Specimen Requirements:

1.0 mL Plasma from a Lavender Top Tube - EDTA in a Amber Vial

Collection Instructions: Centrifuge and separate from cells immediately;  If cant be separated from cells immediately can keep whole blood refrigerated for up to 6 hrs before spinning.

Protect from Light by placing the plasma in an Amber Vial
Minimum Volume: 0.5 mL
Transport & Storage: Temperature/Stability: 6 days Frozen
Rejection Criteria: Ambient; Refigerated; hemolized; lipemic; Green Top Heparin collections; not protected from light
Reference Range: 2 years to 17 years: 3.0 - 35.0 ng/mL
Adults: 2.1 - 21.7 ng/mL
