Specimen Requirements: 10.0 mL Whole Blood in a Red Top Tube 
and
10.0 mL Urine in a Plastic Container
and 
6.0 mL Whole Blood in a Pink Top Tube - EDTA
Collection Instructions: All specimens are to be drawn POST Transfusion

Specimen should be labeled with the patient's name, date and time of collection, Medical Record Number, and Employee ID number


Do not collect in a Serum Separator Tube (SST or PST)

Do not open Red Top Tube

Transport & Storage: Temperature/Stability: 24 hours Ambient 
72 hours Refrigerated

This Blood Bank test should be performed within 72 hours. If longer than 72 hours patient should be redrawn.
Reference Range: Direct Coombs: Negative
ABO: Not Applicable
Critical Ranges:  
Test Comments: If Direct Coombs or ABO results indicate, futher testing will automatically be performed and charged.
