Specimen Collection & Preparation

Specimen Requirements:

3.0 mL Whole Blood in a Lavender Top Tube - EDTA
Minimum Volume:
1.5 mL Whole Blood*

* This volume does not allow for repeat testing

Collection Instructions:

Mix tube by inversion 5 times

Do not centrifuge

Specimens must not be clotted. Overfilling or underfilling may allow blood to clot. Specimens may be rejected due to improper storage or age of specimen.

  • Refrigerated (2-8°C): 72 Hours

15 days to 1 month: 3.9 - 5.9 mi/uL
1 month to 4 months: 3.3 - 5.3 mi/uL
4 months to 6 months: 3.5 - 5.1 mi/uL
6 months to 1 year: 3.9 - 5.5 mi/uL
1 year to 6 years: 3.7 - 5.4 mi/uL
6 years to 14 years: 4.0 - 5.2 mi/uL
