If HSV 2 IgM Screen is positive, HSV 2 IgM Titer will be performed at an additional charge (CPT code(s): 86696).
Methodology: Indirect Fluorescent Antibody (IFA)
Clinical Significance: HSV IgM is detectable in serum from >90% of patients with primary HSV infection; However, HSV IgM is also found in 30% of patients with reactivated HSV.
