Clinical Significance

Vitamin B2 is involved in metabolism of fats, carbohydrates, and protein. The clinical manifestations of deficiency are non-specific. Clinical manifestations include mucocutaneous lesions of the mouth and skin, corneal vascularization, anemia, and personality changes.

Overnight fasting preferred. 

Avoidance of vitamin supplements for 24 hours prior to collection is preferred

Collection Instructions:

Collect in red top tube keeping in amber bag until processed


Processing Instructions:

Centrifuge and separate serum from cells into a Amber Plastic Vial
