Client Notes:  
Patient Preparation: Patient should refrain from taking vitamins or mineral supplements for @ least 3 days before specimen collection.
Specimen Requirements: 7.0 mL aliquot from a well mixed 24 hour Urine Acid Washed Metal Free (trace element controled) Plastic Container into Clear trace metal-free collection tube.
 

The PHL 24hr Urine Containers are acid washed metal free containers and the entire specimen can be submitted. However if you choose to only send the 7.0 mL Urine int the trace metal-free collection tube you will need to contact PHL Client Response at 266-1500 (Option 1) to request thetrace metal-free tubes.
Collection Instructions:

1. When starting the 24-hour period, urinate and discard (throw-away) this specimen. NOTE THE TIME
2. From that time on, collect all urine by urinating into a clean container and transfer into the provided container. 
DO NOT URINATE DIRECTLY INTO CONTAINER.
3. Try to pass the last urine just prior to the end of the 24 hour period. Add this urine into the container. 
4. Urine Specimen should be kept refrigerated during and after collection.
