On Monday, December 17th the following changes go into effect.
Candida sp. Antibodies ID the preferred stable temperature will be refrigerated and the reference ranges will change to:
Candida sp. Antibodies: Negative
Negative: Antibody Not Detected
Positive: Antibody Detected
Detection of antibody recognizing Candida is 70-80% specific for systemic candidiasis, and sensitivity is related to the immunocompetence of the patient. The immunocompromised patient with overwhelming candidiasis may not exhibit detectable Candida antibody.
Fungal Immunodiffusion Panel the preferred stable temperature will be refrigerated and the reference ranges will change to:
Aspergillus Antibody: Negative
Candida sp. Antibodies, ID: Negative
Fungal Antibody Screen CF:
Histoplasma, Blastomyces: < 1:8
Coccidioides: < 1:2
