Test Notes

RPR, Qualitative [IMO36] is indicated to monitor treatment in individuals previously diagnosed with syphilis and should not be utilized for screening purposes.

RPR with FTA reflex [IMO37] should be utilized for syphilis screening. 


Specimen Requirements:

1.0 mL Serum in a SST Gold Top Tube
Minimum Volume:
0.2 mL Serum*

* This volume does not allow for repeat testing

Processing Instructions:

Centrifuge and separate from cells within 24 hours of collection


Transport and Storage:
  • Refrigerated (2-8°C): 3 Days
  • Frozen (-20° C or colder): 3 Months

Clinical Interpretation

Reference Range:

Non Reactive


Test Comments:

If the RPR is reactive, a Titer will automatically be preformed and charged
