Collection Instructions

Draw patient 1 hour after oral ingestion of d-Xylose
Label sample vial with patient's name and the time of collection postdose (e.g., 1 hour, etc.).

Reference Range:

< 6 years: > 14.9 mg/dL
> 6 years: > 19.9 mg/dL

Documentation

There are only a few mild adverse reactions reported with this test. They include nausea, cramping and diarrhea for a few hours.
