Specimen Requirements: 1 gm Unpreserved Feces in a sterile container
Collection Instructions: Collect undiluted feces in  clean, dry, sterile leak-proof container.  

Do not add fixative.
Minimum Volume: 0.3 gm Feces

Reference Range:

Normal: < 15.625 - 50 mcg/g
Borderline: > 50 - 120 mcg/g
Abnormal: > 120 mcg/g

Clinical Significance: Diagnose imflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.  Differentiate IBD from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
