Clinical Significance: This DNA-based assay tests leukocytes from blood or bone marrow aspirate for mutation at codon 617 of JAK2, using an advanced DNA sequencing method. The JAK2 V617F mutation is associated with myeloproliferative neoplasms, including polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia and primary myelofibrosis
