Collection Instructions:  
Transport & Storage: Temperature/Stability: 48 hours Refrigerated

Specimen to be transported Refrigerated to PRMC within 48 hours of collection to be frozen by Immunology department to maintain specimen integrity until testing occurs. Do not transport Frozen.
Reference Range:
OD ratio < 0.90 indicates no detectable Epstein-Barr Virus, IgM antibody.
 
OD ratio 0.91 - 1.09 are equivocal for Epstein-Barr Virus IgM antibody, Suggest a new specimen be collected and retested.
 
OD ratio > 1.10 is positive for Epstein-Barr Virus IgM antibody. A positive value indicates a primary or reactivated infection
