Venipuncture Collection Specimen Requirement:
3.0 mL Whole Blood in a Clear Red Top Tube - No Additive (drawn as a waste tube)
and
2.7 mL Whole Blood in a Blue Top Tube - 3.2% Na Citrate
and
4.0 mL Whole Blood in a Green Top Tube- NaHeparin


Line Draw Collection Specimen Requirement:
10.0 mL Whole Blood in a Yellow Top Tube - UA No Additive (drawn as a waste tube)
and
2.7 mL Whole Blood in a Blue Top Tube - 3.2% Na Citrate
and 
4.0 mL Whole Blood in a Green Top Tube- Na Heparin or 4.0 mL Whole Blood in a Green Top Tube- Li Heparin
Collection Instructions: Collect using 21 G needle or larger. Order of draw- discard tube, blue top tube, green top tube. Return all tubes to blood bank  For art line draw a discard tube is not sent to lab.

Blue Top Tube Specimens must be filled within +/- 10% of stated volume

Do not spin or remove the top from the tube.

All specimens must be full
Transport & Storage: Temperature/Stability: Samples must be transported at ambient temperature to lab as soon as possible after collection, using foam pneumatic tube inserts

Sample must equilibrate at ambient temperature for at least 10 minutes prior to testing
