Test Comments: For elevated results: 
Occasionally, AST might be falsely elevated due to the presence of immunoglobulin-AST-complex.  When high concentrations of serum AST are observed in the absence of organ-specific disease, high levels of AST should be investigated for the presence of immunoglobulin-complexed enzyme as a cause for such results.
