Specimen Requirements:

2.0 mL Frozen Plasma from each of 2 Blue Top Tubes - 3.2% Na Citrate in a 2 Plastic Vials

Collection Instructions:

Centrifuge light blue-top tube 15 minutes at approximately 1500 g within 60 minutes of collection. Using a plastic pipette, remove plasma, taking care to avoid the WBC/platelet buffy layer and place into a plastic vial. Centrifuge a second time and transfer platelet-poor plasma into four new plastic vials. Plasma must be free of platelets (<10,000/mcL). 

2 separate plastic vials 2.0 mL plasma frozen and sent  

Minimum Volume: 1.0 mL Na Citrate Plasma x2
Transport & Storage: Temperature/Stability:

60 days Frozen

Freeze immediately and ship on dry ice.
