Specimen Requirements:
2.0 mL Serum from a Red Top Tube in a Plastic Vial
Collection Instructions:
Do not collect in a Serum Separator Tube (SST or PST)
Minimum Volume:
1.0 mL Serum
Reference Range:
Refer to Interpretive Results
Methodology:
UPLC-MS/MS
Clinical Significance:
Reference range is equivalent to lower limit of detection for this assay. Flunitrazepam is typically ingested in small doses and is rapidly metabolized; hence it has a relatively short half-life in serum. Flunitrazepam metabolites may be detected in urine 5 days or more post ingestion, however as small doses are typically ingested, detection in urine is typically limited to the first 24-72 hours. This panel includes Flunitrazepam, 7-Aminoflunitrazepam, and N-Desmethylflunitrazepam
