Specimen Requirements: 4.0 mL FROZEN Whole Blood in a Lavender Top Tube - EDTA
Collection Instructions: Collect specimen in lavender-top (EDTA) tube. Do not centrifuge. Ship frozen. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, please submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested.
Transport & Storage: Temperature/Stability: Frozen
Rejection Criteria: Quantity not sufficient for analysis; heparinized plasma; nonfrozen specimen
Reference Range: Refer to Interpretive Results
Test Comments: Limitations: This procedure should be used for patients with documented HIV-1 infection and undetectable viral load or low level viremia.
Methodology: Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification and next generation DNA sequencing
