Specimen Requirements:

-OR-

Two - 2 Grams Whole Stool Specimens in a Sterile Gray Containers
Minimum Volume:
>1 gram*

* This volume does not allow for repeat testing

Collection Instructions:

Utilizing a commode hat, or a sterile collection container, collect two separate samples.

Collect at least 24 hours apart, both collected as early in illness as possible and ideally within 14 days of illness onset. 

No media required


Rejection Criteria:

Received on rectal swab


Transport and Storage:
  • Frozen (-20° C or colder):

    Transport on dry ice

Results for EV/RV and poliovirus testing will be returned as testing completed (within 14 days)
