Clinical Significance:

Parvovirus B19 infection has a wide variety of disease manifestations, including Fifth disease, transient aplastic crisis, persistent anemia and congenital hydrops fetalis. Quantification of parvovirus B19 genomic DNA is based upon Real-Time PCR amplification and detection. The quantitative range of this assay is 100–100,000,000 copies/mL.
