Client Notes:  
Patient Preparation: Patient should refrain from taking mineral supplements, and multi-vitamins three days prior to specimen collection.
Specimen Requirements:

4.0 mL Whole Blood in a Navy Blue Top Tube - EDTA

Collection Instructions: Avoid contamination, use powderless gloves.

Draw one Navy Blue Top with 1.0 to 2.0 mL blood and discard
Fill Navy Blue Top label and send for testing.

Minimum Volume: 2.0 mL Whole Blood
Transport & Storage: Temperature/Stability: 48 hours Ambient
7 days Refrigerated (preferred)
Rejection Criteria: Frozen: Hemolysis; gross lipemia; clotted specimen
Reference Range:

< 1.3 mcg/L
